Tamim also spoke about the role of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). While he accepted that the government plays a key role, he insisted that the board must be allowed to make independent decisions.

“If we call BCB an independent body, then it must also have the authority to take its own decisions,” Tamim said.

One of Tamim’s strongest messages was about ignoring emotional noise from fans and social media. He believes that public opinion keeps changing and cannot be the base of major decisions.
